Hustle & Flowchart: Mastering Business & Enjoying the Journey

The Hustle & Flowchart Podcast with Joe Fier is all about how to build a business so it gives you the freedom and fuel for your life. We discuss systems, mindset tweaks, reframes, and strategies for entrepreneurs (and really anyone) to enjoy the process of being in business and having fun. This isn't for the entrepreneur looking to build a billion dollar business, rather someone who is looking to build systems that work for you, so you can make more money than you need just by working part-time. I was a chronic hustle-mode kinda guy and I want to share my experiences and mentors I've met along the way to help you reframe things so you can be the most effective as an entrepreneur. Join in conversations with Joe Fier and various mentors sharing principles and strategies to put this into action for yourself. Please enjoy and share with your friends! Listen Notes

What does an engineer, a thriving done for you, “get you featured on a  podcast service,” and performing on the largest virtual stage all have in common?  These are just some of the topics Tom Schwab answers today on the podcast.

Tom jumps head first into the plethora of benefits any online business owner can enjoy by being featured on podcasts. Find out the very model Tom and his crew of 18 at The Interview Valet use to help blossoming online business owners escape the trap of being obscure.

All of Tom’s experts tips on how to raise your awareness in the eyes of your intended audience through podcast appearances are in here. In truth, the action steps you need to take may be much easier than you think.

If you want to spread your virtual wings and “be discovered” for what you’ve got to offer, this is by far one of the easiest ways to do it. And, if Tom’s advice resonated with you, be sure to check out podcast strategy from Jonathan Rivera and Matt’s advice on connecting to anyone through a podcast.

"Content is king, but contact is God.”  - Tom Schwab

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • How “wasted time” turned an engineer into a budding entrepreneur
  • What you get when you help people switch their focus to doing the stuff they love and stop them from doing the things they loathe
  • Matt & Joe go super sleuth to determine if their podcasts guests are good fits
  • Tom tells us if you’re going to lie to tell him this…
  • If you think you’re going to do this to reach your clients and Apple can’t even do it, think again!
  • The simplest way to have people gladly give you money for your products and services
  • What “whales” don’t do...Additionally, where “big fish” don’t swim
  • Why you should always allow people to speak directly to “The Wizard” (aka-you)
  • If you’re sitting next to Matt and Joe in a restaurant, remember, voices carry
  • This is the best ROI of your time for any entrepreneur
  • What is the Dorie Clark strategy and why should you care about it?
  • Is there a new book titled, Serve, Serve, Ask! in Tom’s future?
  • What to do before reaching out to influencers to become a guest on their podcasts
  • Never do this as a guest on a podcast because the host will definitely do it for you if you nail the “before you reach out” tasks...
  • These three ingredients are the perfect recipe for follow-up as a podcast guest

If you’ve ever wondered if it was time to just get out there on a new path with a business model to see if it’s Grammy worthy or a straight to the rental rack kind of gig, Mike Matuz is the guy to enlighten you.

Mike’s sole mission is to help anyone with a great business idea to succeed. He lends his 5 years of experience going from a new gym owner carrying debt to being fully self-funded as a prime example of what tuning in to business disruption can do for anyone who’s ready to get into action.

Now Mike’s journey is to coach and mentor others who want to reinvent themselves as they bring new solutions to antiquated markets and test the waters before they jump with both feet into the entrepreneurial pool.

Today you’ll hear plenty of passion from these three guys as they discuss curation over creation, why being a consumer can make you a great producer, and how to spot a business disruption from a mile away.  If Mike’s wisdom gets you thinking outside the box, be sure to check out our recent episodes with Josh Bartlett and Aaron Fletcher to keep you moving towards your own corner of the “be your own boss” universe.

It’s human evolution. You’re not meant to spend 80 hours a week under fluorescent lights in a cubicle...Money gives you options.”  - Mike Matuz

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • What kind of bromance brews in the water at an  Aaron Fletcher mastermind?
  • How ADD is an asset for an entrepreneur
  • When is the best time to fail forward?
  • Four steps to help you determine  if you want in on a business venture
  • Do we smell a SAAS in Evergreen Profits future?
  • Where’s the arbitrage and why you should care…
  • Why geographic  locations are tuned into the  entrepreneurial effect
  • Self-liquidating degree? Hmmmm…
  • Everything intersects at these two “M’s”
  • Why business disruption is about curating not creating
  • Details you should be granular about
  • This is the monumental hurdle to a disruption taking hold
  • The most antiquated business model in the history of the world,  according to Matt and Joe
  • How to make a great player into an MVP
  • Is the funnel the thing?
  • Spin it to win it...It’s not all about the rich getting richer for business models anymore
  • One of the two things you must simplify to cause business disruption

From millionaire to decamillionaire to broke and back again in a whole new way and faster than ever - those are some of the credentials that may get you interested in listening to what our guest Marx Acosta-Rubio has to say.

Today’s podcast was filled to the max by Marx. We’re not exaggerating when we say we could have gone on for at least twice as long in just this episode. Who doesn’t appreciate a story of a fall from grace to a stunning Phoenix-like rebirth?

With so much actionable mindset advice based on his own experience, it’s no wonder he’s got a bevy of GTD-ers lining up to take his 90-day challenge. As we listened to his business savvy around setting priorities, following the 80/20 principle and thriving in business, when Marx offered, we jumped at the chance to enroll in the challenge ourselves.

We’re so busy these days getting out of our own way, we can’t imagine what’s next. This is a buckle down kind of episode. You may want to mark this one off in your schedule so you have enough time to take notes and develop a plan of action with all the takeaways hiding inside.

If you like some of what Marx has to say, be sure to check out these past episodes with James Schramko and Christy Whitman that really hit home about gaining clarity, taking aligned action and abundance.

You’re only one, two or three moves away from greatness or disaster.” - Marx Acosta-Rubio
