Hustle And Flowchart - Tactical Marketing Podcast

Every week we have conversations with the most successful people in our network. We learn their stories and the lessons learned before diving in and getting the real "meat." Every single show has actionable takeaways that listeners can implement in their own life or business. We focus on topics around traffic, brand awareness, wealth growth, podcasting, marketing automation, mindset, lifestyle, and business systematization but have been known to go pretty "off script" from time to time to discuss a wide variety of topics to help people improve their lives. We describe our show as "A Life Improvement Podcasting Masquerading As A Business Podcast."

Today we are talking with Gennaro Cuofano, who not only has an awesome accent but runs an amazing site called Ever since we hung up with our guest, we have completely nerded out on his site, as he does super deep research on every brand in the world. He basically looks at businesses and reverse engineers them by digging into their financial statements, how they get their traffic using various SEO tools, and then writes up these detailed blog posts about their entire business model.  He dives into where their revenue comes from, where he sees them headed, and basically everything you could want to know about these businesses. The cool thing is it's very objective as he consumes content like crazy.

Gennaro checks out a slew of business models, everything from affiliate marketing, freemium and subscription models, just to name a few. Imagine how many new concepts you’ll be able to come up with, or perhaps your customers have been asking for a specific model, but maybe you don’t know how to build it. We’ve recently been talking about the affiliate model and when we started digging around on Gennaros’ site we realized there is a lot more affiliate business than you realize, some being multi-billion-dollar companies. After you’ve listened be sure to check out our shows with Nate Broughton and David Sinick for even more content, research, and keyword strategies.

If you think about business today, Google, Facebook, and Amazon, those are actually the gatekeepers of distribution. You are going through those gatekeepers to earn your customers, so you better understand how they work. ” - Gennaro Cuofano

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • How to reverse engineer other business models and why you would want to
  • Listen to us nerd out about the site, and how it’s broken down from an advertising and revenue standpoint
  • How you can actually do this analysis for yourself

We are back today with another awesome Therapy Session which we recorded literally right at the airport and before grabbing a flight back from Florida where we attended Rich Schefren’s “Coalition To Save Internet Business” live stream event where it was a who’s who in internet marketing. We got to share the cigar bar stage with such guests as Russell Brunson, Dean Graziosi, Jeff Walker, Dennis Yu, Perry Marshall, and Mike Fillisame among many others.

We are back and in this episode, we got the chance to speak with Kamal Ravikant, someone we’ve wanted to chat with for a while, so we arranged our schedules to make this happen. This guy has lived many lifetimes already, and he’s experienced lost, distilled what he's learned from it and provides practical ways which helped him to improve his life and others in a very simple way. You may recall he put out a book called “Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It “. We dive into the reasons why he wrote the book, the backstory and you’ll hear how his story was not what we expected at all in regards to how he got to where he is today.

Kamal got so much feedback from his book which went viral, he decided to go back and rework it, adding some step by step advice, so it’s very fresh new content. Today’s show was a fun one to record, as we actually met in person with Rich Schefren, who was one of the first online marketers that we learned a lot from early on in our career. When we were starting out we picked up his free ebook, which has gone out to millions of folks by now.

It was an honor to meet up with Rich and prior to this, we’ve had a lot of calls with him, as we are helping him currently with all sorts of podcasting insights. Listen in to hear about Rich’s upcoming new show, The “Secrets of Being Rich”. Also, in this interview, you’ll notice how he’s a master researcher, and learn about his in-depth processes for speed reading and digesting content to see patterns and trends for the future. You’ll also hear more about his upcoming event, the Coalition to Save Internet Businesses (which we will also be speakers at) and why everyone should attend.

There are changes afoot and these big companies have monster control, so Rich lines out his expertise and future trends of how to make sure you’ll not get screwed by some of these trends that may blindside you. You are definitely not going to want to miss this live stream as well as this episode if you are concerned about the future of your business. After you listen, be sure to check out our shows with Ryan Deiss and Matthew Woodward for more about future trends in the digital marketing world.

We are back and on today’s show, we are chatting with Doc Williams, an awesome guy who approached us to be a guest on our show. We couldn’t say no as we realized he came with so much value and a model that was easy to follow, that we really wanted to share it.

Doc comes across as someone who has lived many lifetimes, going through a variety of businesses through the ages (even though he’s close to our age). He’s worked with ESPN, AppSumo, an Olympic medal team, he ran his own CrossFit gym, even a candy store! He’s done so many interesting things in his life, and he’s one of the very few people who have made the cut through reaching out to us directly with his model. He’s also worked with VaynerSports and is clearly someone who makes stuff happen.

You’ll hear how Doc takes the concept of creating content, which can be super time consuming and leans into what your personality is best suited for, then repurposing that content in a way in which you are getting it in front of the right people. You’ll also learn which channels are working and how to set up your own content funnel to keep it as simple for you so you don’t get overwhelmed trying to be everywhere, all over the various social media channels. After you are done, check out our talks with Paul Clifford and David Sinick as we discuss content syndication, content upgrading and speeding up the process for promoting and creating content.

If the opportunity is there, I just try to listen as much as could be of use.” - Doc Williams

On our last show with Chris Krimitsos we chatted about his podcasting event, Podfest. At a lot of events we’ve attended, there's a lot of chest pumping but Podfest was the first event where the consensus was more about supporting each other and collaboration. Ever since then, we’ve been obsessed with the Podfest community and started to ingrain ourselves into the podfesting world because we love that perspective so much.

We’re back and on today’s show, we are joined by Bedros Keuilian who runs the Empire Mastermind and the Empire Podcast show with another one of our former guests, Craig Ballantyne. Bedros is a cool guy who discovered his passion for helping people early on in life. We talk about his interesting past and how his father helped his family flee the Soviet Union when he was a child plus how growing up a poor foreigner, constantly on the move helped him to become resilient and an influencer, even at a young age.

We also talk about the importance of mentors and the various ways in which Bedros’ personal mentor assisted him, which led him to eventually having one of the most successful gym models, landing on the Inc. 5,000 list three times in a row, and hitting Entrepreneur Magazine’s list of 500 best franchises out of 175,000 franchises out there. When you’re done, be sure to check out our show we recorded with Angelo Sisco and Mike Matuz, fitness entrepreneurs as well who have figured a way to be their own boss.

We are back today with another awesome Therapy Session which we recorded right after we finished creating a training course over at WealthFit. Their process for creating courses is amazing, and one of these days we’ll make a behind the scenes video for you. This segways into our focus of creating more content for other platforms, such as courses.

Also on today’s show, we discuss some things that have changed since our last therapy session episode, some areas in our business that will be given less focus and where we are headed going forward. We also had some a-ha moments lately, which has helped to really zone in on our future business plans and helped our creativity to really take off.

We talk about our affiliate marketing strategies, what most affiliate marketers are doing wrong, and how to set yourself apart from the rest, to build up the most value and have a supportive, tuned-in audience for the long term. After you’ve soaked all this in, be sure to check out our shows with Dustin Mathews and Robert Farrington for even more insight on how to scale your business and capture an audience that loves your content.

We masterminded a few days ago about how can we make this podcast even better, how can we make it more valuable to the listener, how can we provide even more freely and make it so people listening would go ‘Damn, I would have paid for this information’. That’s really our goal with this show.” - Matt Wolfe

We love to experiment and tinker and go down business models, of course, but we also love to share what we are doing and actually see results from other people.“ - Joe Fier

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • An update to our latest update and what we are really focused on now
  • All the cool events we will be attending and speaking at in the next few months and how you can meet up with us
  • How we realized where we should put our attention (and tips on how you can make the most out of your business intentions as well)
  • One key thing we are doing with our affiliate traffic that almost no one else is doing, but is a huge asset to our business
  • One of our latest “a-ha” moments, which seems so simple, but was a real eye-opener and led to a huge burst of inspiration for new ideas
  • What most affiliate marketers are doing wrong and how to market products the right way so the big ad networks will love you
  • What people really want when looking at products and how to convert search traffic into buyers
  • Soooo many shout-outs in this episode, too many to list. Are you one of them?
  • Affiliates 4 Lyfe, yup that’s us - search it now!
