This is going to be one of our new, snackable episodes where Joe will talk about one of the most in-demand strategies out there. We are using the Dream 100 strategy, which is how we bring amazing people onto the podcast. We are also able to connect with these people for joint venture deals, affiliate partners, to get connected to different brands, and to get sponsorship deals. So listen in, as Joe gives you the exact methodology, templates, and tactics on how to deploy this strategy to connect with basically anyone you want. Once you’ve listened, be sure to check out our chats with Gary Henderson and Travis Chappell, two amazing entrepreneurs who have mastered how to build their network, connect with influencers, and network for mutually beneficial results.

Mandy McEwen from ModGirlMarketing.com, brought the goods today as this episode has a boatload of tactics on how to connect and showcase your brand on LinkedIn. When Mandy told us that only 1% of users are actively posting on that platform, it really opened up our eyes to the possibilities. While LinkedIn may not be the answer for everyone, chances are your audience is on there. To be successful on LinkedIn, you really want to do what everyone else is not doing, i.e. acting like a human being without constantly pitching.

Mandy talks about some cool tips to dial in your profile to make you stand out as an influencer leader and how there are different features on the mobile app which you can optimize. She also discusses how her own clients have grown without even posting, but just by engaging. You can create that closed-loop system with comments and posts, plus she got tactical in regards to what the LinkedIn algorithm really loves. There are also some tips on how to post documents, and use LinkedIn Navigator to fine-tune your feed. If you want to get additional reach, connect with the people you want and appear as a thought leader, check out all the ideas she shares. Afterward, round out your networking and LinkedIn know-how by checking out our previous episodes with Trevor Turnbull and Joshua B. Lee.

We all have personal brands, whether you want it or not, especially entrepreneurs. Really anyone with a LinkedIn profile has a personal brand so you might as well start owning it.” - Mandy McEwen

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • How to really succeed with LinkedIn (and it’s not as hard as you think)
  • The “Don’t List” of what not to do reach LinkedIn outreach
  • How to be seen as the industry expert without having to create a ton of unique content
  • Leverage these hacks to curate your own content easily
  • Which types of posts LinkedIn prefers the most
  • How to use LinkedIn to make you look more like an influencer
  • A super easy hack to make you stand out
  • Yet another business idea that we would use if you create it
  • The results that you can get just from leaving one comment on a post
  • Mandy’s key takeaways from her Traffic & Conversion talk

BJ Fogg, PhD, author of Tiny Habits and TinyHabits.com is on the show today! We have been immersed lately in understanding changes and our own habits, which have led to some self-sabotage at times. BJ talks about the concept of breaking the chain and how it can be detrimental to your progress. If your habit is too big, it can be hard to build up the momentum to continue. Plus, celebrating micro wins can be a huge motivator and they can come with every action that you do.

BJ talked about his mission in spreading that ripple effect that will pass on to others, similar to how we love having fun while recording. He also gave us some real-life examples of creating tiny habits that stuck, such as how he was able to shed weight easily and how he starts his day in the right way to set his mind up for success. Still want more? Go check out our previous conversations with Anthony Trucks and Erin Pheil for more tricks to get you unstuck with some simple questions and quick tactics.

The best system whether it’s weight loss, sleeping better, or being more productive, is matching yourself with behaviors that will take you to that outcome, and these behaviors should be ones that you already want to do.” - BJ Fogg, PhD

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • How one way of raising kids helps them to foster a sense of accomplishment and be goal orientated
  • How emotions create the habits
  • Breaking down the Fogg Behavior Model
  • The Maui Habit and celebrating life
  • BJ’s easy method for weight loss
  • Stopping the derailment of habits when your environment changes
  • The simple act of celebrating even the smallest of actions
  • Breaking the habit myths (hint: repetition does not create a habit)

This episode is going to be a great extension of what we have been chatting about in the last few weeks. Also, since we’ve been talking a lot about branding, we are back to branding these episodes as a Therapy Session once again. There’s been some great opportunities that we have been discussing for a while, specifically in the creator economy. We now see our company as a media company rather than just a podcast. We also know there are those listeners who are not necessarily trying to create a media brand, so we wanted to speak to that audience. If you know that the creator economy is getting bigger, there’s never been a better time to figure out how to sell the shovels to that industry without having to be an influencer.

We talk about the opportunities that we see in the creator economy and some cool stats that compare it to the gig economy. We also drop some insight into how you, as an entrepreneur can use this opportunity. Once you become aware of where the money and attention is flowing, you can position yourself and ride that wave with the creators. It’s a smart approach and we’ll talk about some ways where it’s not you building the media company, but you can be the specialist to provide your services to those on the rise, even positioning yourself for rev deals and partnership. Once you listened, be sure to check out our chats with Gary Henderson and Travis Chappell for tips on how to make connections and network with influencers on a level playing field.

Position yourself properly and strategically - anyone can do that now with the creator/influencer economy.” - Joe Fier

The fact that each one of these things has so many subtasks, is a huge opportunity for digital marketers who want to go and specialize in one of those. Just look at YouTube, and look at one of the tasks you’ve got to do for YouTube. There’s a business there that you can go and replicate for people over and over again.” - Matt Wolfe

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • Examples of opportunities that never existed before, which you can specialize in and build a business around
  • Some interesting stats on where the creator economy is headed
  • A look behind the scenes of how we are building our media company
  • Generalists vs. specialists in the agency world, and how the pandemic has switched things up
  • Ideas on how to leverage the creator economy
  • Steal one of our business ideas and run with it!
  • How to present a no-brainer deal to a creator, and turn it into a rev share deal

On today’s show, we are chatting with Brian Bogert, of BrianBogert.com, who has a wealth of perspectives, and we’ll definitely do a round two, as he opened up so many loops for us. He’s got so many crazy experiences that have happened and shaped who he is. We talk about podcasting and some things that we didn’t even know which we know you will find helpful. Brian also chatted about his perspective in regards to mindset vs. tactics, and our survey that we put out last year, which we now know is not that cut and dry, and actually has a few layers to those results.

He’s got such great insights into triggers, and how to embrace the pain to avoid suffering, and gave us some real-life examples. The beauty of this conversation is showing how we can be blind to some things until they show up. We did talk a little about imposter syndrome and how we get it sometimes around tangents on the show if we don’t think we can add to the conversation. Brian was able to enlighten us since we now know to just say what we are thinking and awaken the sleeping giant in ourselves, which is very refreshing. There were so many a-ha moments in this conversation, that we will definitely be having Brian back for round two. In the meantime, you may enjoy our chats with Gabby Bernstein and JaMarr Johnson where we chat about how to get into a flow and get yourself on the best track.

Typically what’s preventing us from being exactly who we want to be, reaching our potential, and having the impact on the world we desire... guess what - it’s us.” - Brian Bogert

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • How the recent events over the last year have created a boom for podcasting
  • The magic of valuable sound bites that convert to attention and downloads
  • Redefining the patterns in your life that have been holding you back
  • When we surveyed our audience on Tactics vs. Mindset and how they are not mutually exclusive
  • Recognizing who we are as humans and defining mental toughness
  • The importance of knowing someone’s prime narrative to communicate with them in the best way possible
  • The stuff that no one is talking about in regards to changing the patterns in our own life
  • Check out Matt’s eloquent thought process on reacting to the metaphysical nature of the conversation
  • A new framework on how to view imposter syndrome
  • Recognizing pain and suffering to go forth to fulfilling our destiny

This is a show for those of you thinking about podcasting and YouTube and for those who are not, you still should listen in. We are going to be talking about content creation on the platforms everyone is going to these days. We chat about recent stats, predictions and where things are headed. There’s a lot of cool things that we have been noticing, that we think will help everyone.

We’ve been pretty tapped in with what’s been happening in the podcasting space in the past few years, and our gut reactions have been pretty accurate. You’ll hear our thoughts about ClubHouse, Spotify, Fireside and, yes, even OnlyFans. Plus we deep dive into a poll by Edison Research that shows some interesting data in regards to where podcast listeners are hanging out for both searching and listening. So check it out, and when you are done be sure to have a listen to our chats with Rob Balasabas and Marc Guberti who drop some golden nuggets on how to maximize your YouTube views, as well as best practices for your descriptions, keywords and tags.

There’s so much opportunity to leverage other people’s work and show up as a recommended video.” - Joe Fier

Anywhere you can have your content, have your content available there, because these trends might shift over time, so might as well be where everyone’s looking.” - Matt Wolfe

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • Why we’ve been putting our focus on YouTube based on data
  • Interesting stats about where people are listening now and more trends that we’ve been eyeing for a while
  • What really bugs Matt about Spotify? Listen to find out
  • Why YouTube makes it way easier for your podcast to be discovered

Did you know that our guest today is the reason behind Russell Brunson’s success? Today, we have Armand Morin on the show, and it was so cool to go down a page in history, as he talked about the early days of internet marketing way back in 1996. He tells the story of how he made over one million dollars selling bookmarks in the days before payment processors. Also, his email strategy and MAE framework were interesting to us, as well as how he doesn’t believe in funnels. He has flipped the idea of the funnel into more of a pipeline and gave us a dissertation on how to do email with this approach. We also chat about his email sequence based on webinars, which was another massive topic.

This show was much more tactical than we thought, as Armand covered email strategies, webinar strategies, and even how to become a country music star. He’s also a national champion with Tai Kwon Do, and follows that whole “Success Leaves Traces” philosophy, which you can learn about in his book of the same name. After you’ve listened, you might enjoy our episodes with Dale Beaumont and David Jenyns for more tips on creating systems to save time and work smarter.

Lastly, if you are heading to Traffic & Conversions Summit, be sure to stop by our booth in the expo area and come say hello! There will be challenges, fun, and prizes! If you want to come network and hang out with us, we are going to be throwing a huge party at Mission Brewery in San Diego on Tuesday evening. There will be sponsors (if you want to sponsor, hit us up!) and we promise this will be a super fun party that you do not want to miss.

At 3 hours into my whole internet career, I find this website that says ‘If you give me $20, I will put a link on my site that will link to your site and because I’m advertising so much, you’re going to get a lot of traffic to your site’ and I thought, Oh man, that’s brilliant!” - Armand Morin

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • How to hack your way into becoming a huge country music star
  • Avoiding a painful, first business lesson
  • The early days of selling links and having to print out paper checks!
  • How Armand created the world’s original search engine
  • What happens when you get your merchant account shut down when you are on track to make over $150,000,000 in a year
  • Why you want to think of selling through a pipeline, not a marketing funnel
  • The early days of the Warrior Forum - who knew?!
  • Changing up your email system with the MAE method, so you are getting more open rates and not hammering your list with the same message over and over
  • The new webinar strategy that has been a game-changer (it’s easier than you may think)
  • How to reverse engineer anything, even learning how to water ski

This episode has been a long time coming, as we have been thinking about some of this stuff since 2013. Many of our listeners have told us how much they miss our Therapy Sessions where we talk about what we are doing in the business and our struggles and wins, and this show will include a lot of those insights. We chat about where we see a lot of our marketing efforts headed, how the marketing landscape is changing for all of us, and some of the things we will be doing differently. We also discuss some of the ways that we are finally fulfilling our goals from years back and how we are going all in.

Also, if you are heading to the Traffic & Conversions Summit, be sure to stop by our booth in the expo area and come say hello! Make sure you are subscribed to our YouTube channel, as there will be challenges, fun, and prizes (cha-ching!) If you want to network and hang out with us, we are going to be throwing our Overtime event at Mission Brewery once again on Tuesday evening. There will be sponsors (if you want to sponsor, hit us up!) and we promise this will be a super fun party that you do not want to miss. And after you have enjoyed this episode, be sure to check out our conversations with Angelo Sisco and Ryan Berman who share their own great insights about branding in this new marketing landscape.

The big four - the GAFA companies - are all battling it out right now over things like privacy, the various ad platforms and methods of advertising, and all the smaller companies who are trying to play by the rules are getting squashed in the mix.” - Matt Wolfe

We are going to be doing a hybrid approach between what we have been doing in direct response and internet marketing compared to more of the branding and creator play.” - Joe Fier

  • What do with lower open rates and losing your cookies
  • Want to be in the movies? How we’re all in Godzilla vs. King Kong now

We have Anthony Trucks joining us again for round two, and we had an absolute ball. Anthony has a new book coming out, Identity Shift, which we discuss in-depth on today’s episode. This was an impactful and timely episode, and one of the things we talked about was how there are people who want variety in life, and then there are people who want stability. For example, even in our own business, our new studio is the mechanism for wanting to change things up, as things were getting a little monotonous. Another analogy that Anthony discussed was the ball analogy, where the ball that you kicked far away is your goal and when it’s too far, the doubt comes in. So when it comes to goal setting, if you build too grand of a vision, you can get into mental trouble because that ball needs to be a little closer.

He talks about people who constantly consume and don’t take any action, so the more you consume, the heavier that ball becomes. Also, he talks about how one of the goals of his book is to clarify how to close the identity gap so you can upgrade your life to the next level. There’s a lot of good stuff in this one, and after you have listened, we have some great shows from our vault you should check out, including our previous show with Anthony and our chat with Nir Eyal that deals with mindset, becoming more products, and getting valuable feedback to make better business decisions.

At the end of the day, your identity has to match your dream or it will never be realized. A lot of people have dreams that are far beyond their current identity...the cool thing is as you shift into it, you simultaneously transform as a human, but you also achieve that thing.” - Anthony Trucks

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • How our chairs are a metaphor for our business
  • What makes you a skilled speaker
  • What your ideal identity is comprised of and the identity gap
  • Are you suffering from the epidemic of shelf esteem?
  • The dinnertime conversation you can have with your kids to cement a positive relationship with them
  • The difference between parenting your kids and coaching them (plus how to get your kids to clean their room!)
  • The battery drawer question
  • Chasing your passions vs. sticking with what makes you money (even if you loathe it)

We’re back, coming at you from the world-famous Hustle & Flowchart Studios! Today we are talking about branding, our thoughts and our experience with it and what we are learning about branding lately including the psychology behind it. It’s been a big focus lately in that we are trying to get ourselves dialed in on our brand, uplevel the video quality, and revamping our website design. There’s some specific reasons why we feel now is the time to be branding and we dive into this on today’s episode.

We will be covering some low hanging fruit ways to brand that you probably haven’t thought about. There’s also a few cool videos that we will reference and one of more interesting ways that one major influencer is building his brand plus the surprising reasons behind it. We have also updated some of our studio equipment and will dive into what some of our favorite brands are and why. In addition to all of this, we chat about the bigger picture behind your brand, making an impact on society, and leaving a legacy. After you’ve listened, be sure to check out the past shows we’ve done with Ryan Lee and Ryan Berman to give you some additional ideas on branding and building your tribe.

It’s important to make sure you have the brand understood before you do any dramatic things to the perception of your brand. Ask yourself how are people identifying and attaching to you right now and what’s the reason they are choosing you over another podcast?” - Joe Fier

The way we see it is, the bigger the brand that we can build, the more attention that we can create on us, and then we can essentially sell that attention.” - Matt Wolfe

  • Our top three favorite brands that have helped outfit our new studio
  • Some new platforms we might be testing out with our branding

Joe Sanok joins us again for a second show, with another fun conversation about chilling out, getting your mind in order, and having systems that have been a theme lately around the Hustle & Flowchart brand. A lot of conversations we have had recently are in tune with what we want to do with our brand, which translates into a smart and productive way to work. It is less about tactics and business strategies as what’s really important is figuring out what we want to do and having the business facilitate that.

On today’s show, we chat about how Joe was able to take more time off as we have done, spend more time on the important things in his business, outsource the things that are not as important, and basically slow time to get more clarity. He also tells us a great analogy with his tale of his encounter with a rhino, what to expect if you are doing a book deal with a major publisher and how hie Slow Down School has helped many entrepreneurs to do just that, while also moving their own business ideas ahead quickly. If the idea of traveling the country while working your business part-time appeals to you, be sure to check out our previous show with Joe as well as the chat we held with Justin Brooke

Research shows that when you slow down you have better clarity on what you need to spend your time on. So if you are taking a Wednesday off and the weekend off and you are generally setting boundaries and letting your brain be optimized, then when you get to the week, you can kill it.” - Joe Sanok

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • The magical mindfulness of young minds
  • Roadtripping across America, while road schooling kids and podcasting about the adventure
  • The benefits of having two Fridays a week
  • Scheduling in fun first
  • Discovering your sprint personality to fine-tune your workflow
  • Staying at an Airbnb for the weekend to get more work done
  • How we slow down in a way that matches what our brain needs
  • What to do when you see a rhino charging right at you
  • The science behind vigilant detriment
  • One simple thing you can do to refresh your brain, pay attention better, and work more efficiently
  • The trick to getting to 100 pushups a day
  • What to expect when you publish a book with a big name publishing house

We’re back with another Tuesday episode, where it’s just the two of us, deep-diving into a few topics that we have found interesting lately, talking about what’s going on in our business, and sharing stuff that we have tried out, love, and want to share with you! Today, we are chatting about a book that we both read and really enjoyed - The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel. We definitely had some a-ha moments after going through the book, which entails discussions surrounding the plight of Americans’ inability to set money aside for emergencies, why looking into historical data is not always the best option for determining the future, and why we think it’s important to avoid the dreaded lifestyle creep in order to set yourself up for wealth.

Our show today with Elliot Roe, creator of an app called Primed Mind, was packed full of goodness. We chatted all about how he came to create the app after he was able to get over his fear of flying and he walked us through these pre-methods, to prime your mind for various circumstances. For example, if you have an athletic event coming up or you will be speaking on stage, it primes your mind for all these activities.

Elliot works with people who are in the top 5% but know there’s something holding them back to reach that 1%. These include top athletes, poker players, and Wall Street businessmen, who use his hypnotherapy services to get past that subconscious wall to break through to the next level. We also talk about how to get over imposter syndrome, uncovering hidden memories, and dealing with feelings of guilt, especially when it relates to running your business. Once you have listened, be sure to tune in to our previous shows with Erin Pheil and Rinesh Ganatra for additional insights on how to rock your productivity and erase those roadblocks that keep holding you back.

If there’s a big difference between what you would tell yourself and what you are doing, there’s something going on emotionally because you know the answer but you are not able to  follow that system.” - Elliot Roe

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • Digging into your past by using hypnotherapy to change your emotions
  • Common problems regarding feeling stuck at earning at a certain level and how it usually relates to your father
  • How Elliot got over his fear of flying
  • The interesting world of working with high-end poker players and athletes
  • Getting over imposter syndrome
  • How procrastination is one of the most common things Elliot’s client deal with and how to get around it
  • Bullied as a kid? How to reframe those feelings
  • Dealing with those darn repressed memories that are holding you back
  • Feeling scared? Why you are not alone
  • Dealing with the feelings of guilt when you are not spending time on your business

On today’s show, we are mixing things up a bit. We usually chat amongst just the two of us on Tuesdays, on this episode we decided to use an interview of someone interviewing us. This was an interview done by Stephan Spencer, host of Get Yourself Optimized and Marketing Speak, two great podcasts. We really enjoyed his line of questioning and he even stumped us on a few things. He’s a deep thinker and is well studied, and we know you will enjoy this episode.

You’ll hear us work out some stuff and come to some realizations, such as how we got to the root of what makes us curators. Stephan is great at extracting details and asked about numbers and KPI’s, but it’s interesting because over time our business has shifted from looking at the numbers and more about prioritizing the lifestyle and inner joy. We also talk about various things we have learned from books that we love as well as how we handle our business relationship, some lessons learned from our early days in business and our ideas for the future. After you have listened, check out our previous chat with Stephan that we mentioned, since he is an SEO wizard as well as our conversation with Gary Henderson who gave us his takeaways on connecting with amazing and influential folks as well.

Our goal, focus, and mind space is always on how to create better content, and we live in that world.” - Matt Wolfe

We have established ‘No Working Wednesdays’...and it’s allowed us to go 80/20, go deeper on the key actions that we should be taking and it has us really focused in.” - Joe Fier

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • Why you should focus more on creating systems and less on creating goals
  • One of our big a-ha moments that really took the pressure off
  • Our partnership and the good parts and bad (which basically never happen)
  • No Working Wednesdays!
  • Building assets, not liabilities, and how to really determine the difference between the two (it may be different than what you think)
  • How we celebrate, even if it’s the little things
  • Did we really meet at a party on the beach? Tune in to find out!
  • How to multiply your child’s intelligence
  • Challenges, screw-ups, and missed opportunities

We’re back with another show, chatting with our friend and fellow podcaster Angelo Sisco from Alpha Hippie. One of the things we talk about is having stories around specific things, and how when you listen to others tell stories about the same thing, you can have a reframe and change your perception around this subject. Everything is a frequency, and Angelo has such a deep level of awareness which he trained himself into, and he walks a different plane than most people. You will have so many a-ha moments as you listen to Angelo explain how to reframe your mind and use both feminine and masculine energy to be successful in your business.

Being a storyteller also has many benefits, and creating your own energetic energy in your life will put you in the right frame of mind. Angelo gives an overview of how he works with clients to create an identity alchemism shift, as well as the secret weapon he uses to change his frequency to match the situation he puts himself in. When you have finished, be sure to check out our previous chat with Angelo and our show with Marx Acosta-Rubio as we talk about how to get over those thoughts which are holding you back to create the mindset you need to move ahead.

So much of what holds our lives back is having those past thoughts and experiences and that’s why being able to give good stories and recreate stories in our minds creates new thought patterns, new neural pathways, and expands us, and then we can allow for shifts.” - Angelo Sisco

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • How reading the Goosebumps stories as a kid, helped to build a career
  • When telling a great story leads to analogies and insight

There’s a cool tool that we have been playing with called Conversion.ai which writes copy for you and it’s essentially grabbing information from the web and molding it to your requests with approximately 30 different modes. It helps you come up with ideas, blog posts, emails, subject lines, and some folks are even creating books with it.

There’s also a copy idea generator, so we are answering these questions Jarvis came up with along with real questions sent in by our audience. If you want your questions answered, be sure to visit HustleAndFlowchart.com/ask, where you can write your questions and we will answer them live on an upcoming show.

We also tell you how we deal with affiliate promotions and how we test the waters, to decide whether a product or service makes sense to go all-in and promote. After you’ve listened, check out our chats with Rich Schefren where we dive into how big tech is changing and what you can do about it, as well as with Nikhil Aitharaju & Ryo Chiba and their views on the future of artificial intelligence and what is next for content creation.

We should all be thinking about how we build our own platform or this thing that is a lot more valuable than some stand-alone piece of content that someone is probably cranking through using Jarvis.” - Joe Fier

You take a concept from this book and one from this person and then you mold them all together and now you have your own view through your own personal filter.” - Matt Wolfe

On today’s show, we are chatting with Archit Batlaw from Reach Digital. We like how he thinks through things, and how he talks about what it was like to work at Facebook. We also talk about his predictions and the consolidations as to how Facebook is getting into podcasting and how so many big companies are emulating what other big companies are doing. Archit talks about how, if you have followers, that’s way more powerful than figuring out some Facebook ad strategy. There’s the AI that’s available for everyone and it’s optimized already.

A lot of the things that people are specializing in right now such as copywriting and media buying are examples of things where AI is getting better and better at. This brings us to the main point in this episode which is how building a brand is everything. We also chat about the latest Apple update, some predictions about the future of the big media companies, and some thoughts on what Apple has in store next. Archit also gives us his thoughts on how he stays focused, how to put your tasks on an axis to determine how much time you may be wasting, and other ways to stay in alignment. After you listen, be sure to check out our shows with Rich Schefren and Bruce Clay for more insight into future trends in the digital marketing world.

With a subscription business, you don’t necessarily need to have this churn and burn, with 8,000 customers. You can have 1,000-2,000 customers and have a pretty nice business going.” - Archit Batlaw

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • What it’s really like working at Facebook
  • Is Facebook really tapping in our phones?
  • Following the theme of trial by fire to get customers fast

  • Where the future of in-app purchases are heading

In this episode, we want to talk about the direction of our show and how we’d like to chat with the entrepreneur that was us 15 years ago. We find that there’s a lot missing when we don’t have that perspective in mind, and maybe that’s you or you have a business and you want to go back to basics. We are talking about the handful of things that our younger selves would really appreciate hearing, such as our ideas on delegation, building our list, setting up systems, and how we put content out into the world.

The overall theme is we want to identify different strategies that can help our younger selves and get past some hurdles and roadblocks even quicker. Another segment of today’s episode revolved around how we’ve been sending out emails, asking how we can help you and what are you struggling with in your business now. So if you have emailed us, listen up as we answer a few of the questions that we have received. When you’re done, go check out our conversations with Scott Carson and Stephen Esketzis for more ideas on how to set up systems and your content strategy to reach your audience more efficiently.

Speaking to our younger selves is creating a content machine that allows you to not only grow your brand by putting things out to the world and be able to share it but connecting with highly connected and successful people. You can engineer that yourself by creating your own platform. - Joe Fier

I’ve stopped thinking about being happy when and just enjoying what we are doing right now. I’ve shifted my thinking into ‘Let’s just make every day fun, and figure out how to make money off of that fun-ness that we’re having.’” - Matt Wolfe

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • Before we knew what we were doing, drinking Corona and hanging out in the driveway
  • The mindset shifts which we both have had in the business, and have led us to have more time on our hands
  • Our platform way of thinking to connect with people and bring your message out to the world
  • How to become a merchant of attention so people can buy attention from you
  • The magic of leveraging a platform to build your own platform
  • The Catch-22 of being concerned about sending too many emails to your list
  • Wise words from the founder of Netflix
  • How our content strategy has allowed us to connect with not only our audience but a slew of amazing entrepreneurs
  • How we structure our free and paid content and why you should give away most of your information for free
  • We are also answering your questions on today’s show. If you are struggling with anything, post your question in the Facebook group, and we will let you know our thoughts on a future episode

This was a super fun episode with Chris Parker where we covered a lot of things that we haven’t before. Chris is a unique marketer in that he has more traffic than he knows what to do with, and we love the fact that he's built this system to give back to the world. He’s the founder of WhatIsMyIPAddress.com, a tech-friendly website attracting a remarkable 9 million IP-seeking visits a month. We discuss the benefit of banner ads and using an aggregator, and the breakdown of how his site brings in revenue, plus the promotion of his in-house tools which you can find on his site.

Chris also talks about how he uses HARO to get interviews for his podcast, Easy Prey Podcast, and his recommendations on how to make your media page stand out to visitors, so perhaps even you will get on television as he did. Motivated by stories of cybercrime victims, in 2020 Chris created his podcast to help followers learn about scams, fraud, and other dangers they face online and in the real world. When your stuff is compromised things can go south fast, and you’ll hear Chris’s take on creating online log-ins, two-factor authorizations, and all the aggravation you want to avoid if you have to contact a website if you lose your information.

If you want to dive deeper into the quiz funnel idea that Chris discussed on the show, be sure to check out our show with Ryan Levesque, and if you want to dive deeper into Google ads, you’ll love our show with Justin Brooke.

I have the opposite problem that every affiliate marketer has. I have so much traffic, I don’t know what to do with it all.” - Chris Parker

  • What to be aware of as business owners, so you don’t get scammed
  • Dealing with bottlenecks in the business, before you get too successful
  • Should you use header bidding in your advertising?

We’re back again with our Therapy Session-ish chat - or soon to be called some other new awesome name. We record them roughly the week before the show goes live, so the content we bring you is as fresh as the memory of the last dollar you made online. Lately we’ve been talking about dialing in all the stuff in our business and how we are aligning our actions with where we are headed in the next 10 years and beyond. We know that we all have things that we do routinely, such as checking emails and touching base with people, and when you have a good system behind it, it’ll make your day go so much smoother.

You’ll especially enjoy listening to Matt’s background with designing systems and how his brain works when it comes to fine-tuning the most simple of tasks with the use of some very simple tools. He talks about his three-step process and how he’s able to get to the coveted inbox zero on a daily basis. After you’ve got your mind spinning, be sure to listen to our chats with Paul Minors and David Jenyns who give us even more strategies and tactics to build systems in your life and business, so you can have more time, be more productive, and scale your business.

I do the stuff I least look forward to first so that all that’s left for the day is the stuff I do look forward to doing..” - Matt Wolfe

The time really flew by on today’s episode with Ryan Berman of Courageous Brands, as we let Ryan’s stories interweave into the show. Ryan brings to the table a different perspective than most marketing people. We discuss his stair stepper approach to marketing and how everything is connected. We also talk about how he created an actual city location, in Funner, CA and the magic behind that marketing campaign.

One of the things that we love about this conversation is to start by stepping into the shoes of who you are selling to, which is something we intuitively know, but don’t always practice. Think of how you would want to be marketed to, which is one of the toughest things, but remember the customers are holding all the cards. Ryan also discusses how, if you have a boring brand, do something to change that fact, and create stories around the brand to make it exciting.

Also, make sure you listen to the end, as we read some of our recent reviews - maybe it’s from you! And after you have enjoyed this episode, be sure to check out our conversations with Dan Norris and Ryan Lee, who have both created successful brands by offering value and fun in a different way that makes them stand out from the rest.

We’re living in this world now, where we are inundated with 7,000 messages a day. There’s so much competition right now and that’s why brand is so important.” - Ryan Berman

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • Why “No feel, no deal” is so important to your business
  • David Hasselhoff and the magic behind a “Funner” city
  • The beauty of marketing today in telling your story
  • Getting from strategy to ideas to execution
  • How to flip common perspectives to bring your brand to new levels
  • From ducks to geckos - what to do if you have a boring brand
  • Beerfest vs. Craftfest? Who wants to go?
  • How to weed out the clients that are not a good fit
  • The stair stepper approach to your marketing plan

We’ve been doing a lot of soul searching and have been upgrading our lives in different ways. We’re also still continuing to get insights and help from our friends and podcast guests, which is one of the main benefits of what we do.

We also discuss our new schedules, our awesome new studio space, how we’ve been able to rid ourselves of several limiting beliefs and make the adjustment to hand off work which was hard to do at first, but has freed us up and in turn, made more money. Plus, we give our thoughts on a recent video we watched which dissects how to enjoy the journey as well as how to determine what’s meaningful in your business so you can spend less time on the things you think are important or necessary, but are really holding you back. After you’ve listened, don’t forget to check out the conversations we mentioned with Erin Pheil, Angelo Sisco, and Marx Acosta-Rubio on how to manage your life and workflow, for more balance and free time.

This is the third show where we discuss Empire Flippers, and today we are chatting with Justin Cooke, one of the founders. Justin talked about the Amazon affiliate sites that they sell a lot of, and a good way to learn which sites are selling is to visit their site and go through the listings. Keeping up to date on what’s selling in the marketplace is super valuable for all of us. We’re all building assets and there’s a way to enhance their value.

We also talk about the hiring process, and if you check out their site under the careers tab, you’ll be able to see what we are talking about. He’s got a pretty solid hiring process that he mapped out. He discusses his sales funnel process of hiring, the benefits of hiring an apprentice, how to find potential hires if you don’t already have an audience to reach out to, and how to weed out the non-contenders early on. He also has an interesting take on the commission process and discusses how he’s made it more of a cooperative arrangement, which has worked out very well. After you listen and your mind is reeling from ideas, you’ll definitely want to check out our previous chats with Greg Elfrink and Matt Diggity, on how to best create a site for a future sale or to maintain it while making affiliate income.

“I don’t want to fail them..and if I fail them, I’m just going to be amplifying my own failure. But also, any entrepreneur that waits until they are ready to hire has waited way too long.” - Justin Cooke

Some Topics We Discussed Include:

  • Pivoting after one of Google’s updates
  • Record-breaking numbers on website sales
  • How to hire an apprentice for your business and working through the ups and downs
